10,000 copies of Vast: The Crystal Caverns have left port and are heading towards their destinations in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, and the USA. They will be arriving in the US around February 23rd and will start fulfillment after that.
Fulfillment
Due to a late change in the lineup, Atlas games will be helping Leder games provide fulfillment in the US. Thanks, Atlas! Everyone should go play some Gloom or Hounded now.
Upgrade Kits
Unfortunately, the Upgrade kits will be delayed. There were issues with the Upgrades not leaving the factory with the die, in addition to other problems. We are working with the factory to resolve these errors. Due to Chinese New Year, the Upgrades will be late enough that it would be better to include them with the next shipment. They will ship to backer’s homes with the miniatures and addons.
Miniatures/Addons
Development continues. You can see the current release of the addons here. We would appreciate any feedback you have.

Chad is hard at work on the miniatures. Everything is on schedule for their release.
Language
We are now proud to offer Vast in English, Brazilian-Portuguese, German, French and Spanish. Information about your desired language will be collected during the Backerkit survey. The translations are going on right now. If you want a translated version, you will have to wait for the third printing which will start in March and deliver with the miniatures and addons.
I will send emails out to Italian customers to ask them how they want to proceed. We didn’t have the numbers to commit to Italian but we are working on it with distributors in Italy to see if we can get numbers high enough to accept the risk.
Sold out
Between the Kickstarter copies, distribution, and me setting some aside for PAX: East and SxSW, I am nearly out of copies.. Caryl and I will take a closer look but I think we are almost completely sold out of the second print run. Thank you everyone for helping make this project a fantastic success. Thank you for helping make this project a fantastic success. To accommodate the foreign language versions and continued growth, I will start a third print run of Vast: The Crystal Caverns in March. There will not be another Kickstarter I will just use available funds for it.
Backerkits and pre-orders will be coming out later today.

Good evening everyone.
Minnesota has been plunged into freezing cold today. I can’t imagine this but a few months ago I was eating an ice cream cone with my daughter at the drugstore near my house. I was telling the proprietor about the situation with Paypal. He looked at me for a moment. He then told me about the time his house caught fire in the night and how his family managed to escape unharmed, even though the interior was destroyed. He said we couldn't replace those things His point, which he succinctly summarized, was that something wasn’t really a problem if you can solve it with more money, so start worrying about the things that mattered.
I did well at the last campaign and we did well at Gencon. I spent some money on future developments. Settled up some debts. The rest of the money stayed in Paypal. Of course part of it was gone since my family and I lived on it for awhile, while I wrapped up the game.
Paypal as you know froze my account. The bank wasn’t willing to loan us money despite great credit and owning our house. Some people (including my parents) offered to loan me some money. Meanwhile orders started piling up from distributors. The loans gave me the safety to proceed with a Kickstarter.
I guess when the left flank is crumbling, the right flank is crumbling, the only option was to go ahead and advance down the center by running another Kickstarter. I worked on the site in secret, in a plan called Operation Torchlight. Topher my graphic designer worked with me on it, but until the Sunday before not a lot of people knew I was going to run the campaign. I woke up Tuesday morning before Thanksgiving and said I can’t wait any longer. Honestly I was just expecting to replace the money I was refunding from Paypal and pick up a few other folks. I didn’t expect things to go this well.
As you can see things turned out more differently than I expected.
I cannot thank you enough, you have all completely relaunched my company. I have gone ahead and unlocked the current player marker as a thank you for everyone’s hard work.
The factory has been working on the base game all month. They confirmed the carton design recently so they must be a week out of starting to pack games.
I would like to thank the following people:
David Somerville: The co-designer of Vast. None of this would have been possible without him.
Kyle Ferrin: Our amazing illustrator, working tirelessly to take care of his family and this project. Also been a source of inspiration when my thoughts get darker.
Topher McCulloch: Doing an amazing job supporting the PNP sets and getting the print set ready. Also built most of this site.
Kyle Woelfel: The reason there are solo, two player, the ghost, and the ghoul right now. I will blame both of us for the Unicorn.
I couldn't ask for a better developer.
Joshua Yearsley: Came back to the project and owned the editing. I am pretty excited to have him on my side.
Caryl Tan: Stepped in and helped me navigate replacement parts. We still have a few to go.
Sam Bailey: For some last minute advice about the Goblins as we got ready to ship and for helping us get setup at Gencon.
Danny Lott: For replacing Caryl while she went back to work on Quiche Games
.
Josh: For keeping me testing and helping me get to Gencon.
Clayton Capra, David Zuckman, Martin Grider, Matt Elfering: For being there with us at Gencon to make this all happen.
Gil Hova, Matt Holden, and Tim Fowers for their infinite patience as I panicked about every detail.
Everyone on BGG and the comments answering questions when I couldn't anymore.
My Wife: The real MVP of the campaign, kept our house running, while I balanced the time with my daughter, the campaign, and working. I cannot thank you enough!
Alright I am going to go rest, get over this cold, and then I have some work to do.
Thank you again, you have humbled me with your generosity and kindness.

Brazilian-Portuguese
We are happy to announce that we found a partner for translating and publishing Vast in Portuguese!
Funbox Jogos (funboxjogos.com) will be responsible for publishing a localized version of Vast. They will import the wooden/plastic components from our factory and print the game in their facilities in Brazil. They committed to bring extras and miniatures as well to Brazil, so expect to have access to a full version of Vast in Brazil next year!
If you are from Brazil you will have the option to receive this version though it will be later than the English version. You can opt to still get the English version if you want to.
Other Languages
At this point I am determined to make German happen. I am just trying to settle on the details. Due to my cold I won’t be done in time for the end of the campaign, but we will add what language you want to receive in the survey. If you were expecting or require German just check back in awhile, you can always originate a new pledge on back Kit. You will of course be able to get the English version still if you want to.
Spanish and French are looking solid too I just need to find a distributor or retail order to convince me.
Thanks and I will see you at the finish line.
350,000!

We hit 350,000!!!!
That means!
Vaults, Rockslides, and Flame walls for all miniature backers!
Also we received a picture of one of my favorite characters from the game.
Backer Kit
We just have a few days left. I will be engaging BackerKit. BackerKit will allow us to manage people that want to add on additional things later. I am working with Meeple Realty to add an aftermarket box and we are working on adding a set of prints as people have requested.
I have been busy working on localization and recovering from a cold, but I am still here. There is some news on localization but I am need to work on the message a bit longer.
I should go to sleep if I still can.
See you at the finish line!
