Shipping Update!

Hi everyone!

We just wanted to give a quick update on where things were with our fulfillment as of this writing. Addresses have all been given to fulfillers and last minute address changes may not be possible at this time. 

Please note that processing times are not guaranteed and everyone is working hard to get packages out as soon as they can. 

United States 

The boat arrived last week and labels have been printed and packages going out since Friday and Monday. Everyone at Atlas is working incredibly hard to get packages out for the holiday. We have not received any tracking numbers from them yet but will add them to your backerkit accounts when we have it--which will most likely already be after you receive your packages in an effort to focus on getting everything out this week. 

UK/Rest of the World 

The boat has already arrived and we believe is in the process or will just be going through customs and on its way to Gamesquest for fulfillment. 

Australia 

The games are in the hands of Let’s Play in Australia and fulfillment will begin as early as Friday! 

Canada 

Copies for Canada are being forwarded from Atlas in the US and are currently on their way via UPS Freight to Quiche Games in Canada for fulfillment. Copies are expected to arrive after the holiday with fulfillment starting as soon as the copies arrive.

We also wanted to send a big thank you to Atlas, Gamesquest, Let’s Play and Quiche Games for working hard this holiday season to pack and ship all your pledges during the busiest time of year. And a big thank you to all the postal workers delivering everyone’s goodies for the holiday.

Translation Cancellation

Hi Everyone,

After a lot of deliberation and going through a lot of back and forth of logistics, we’ve unfortunately decided to NOT proceed with the translation project, despite our best efforts.

Believe us when we say that we’ve done all that we can to make this project happen but the unfortunate truth is that the financial risk is too much and our sales are too poor to justify the printing cost.

This means that everything in the following languages will be cancelled: 

French, German, and Spanish

Brazilian/Portuguese will continue due to being handled by a third party and publication of that language will continue after the holidays. So far the core game is committed in its translation and they have the intention of translating Fearsome Foes with the Miniatures and promo cards as long as sales for the core game are strong. 

What about my pledge? 

A survey will be sent out to all backers who are affected to retrieve a response on the following options:

1. A full refund 

Please give us some time to process all responses and some time for the bank to process as well. 

2. Changing everything in your survey to English 

Currently, fulfillment has begun for the English base game, miniatures, fearsome foes and promo cards. Those who choose to get their games in English will be part of this current wave of fulfillment. 

3. Other 

Please detail in the survey comments for specific changes i.e. partial refunds or adding add-ons etc.

Surveys will be sent via email shortly after the publication of this update. If you do not receive your survey link, please contact [email protected] and Caryl will send you the link manually.

It will take some time to process everyone’s requests for refunds or language changes so please be patient as we try to get to everyone as quickly as we can.

What does this mean for the already translated work? 

We are keeping what is posted available online for you to refer to or even print yourself.

What does this mean for the future of translations and Leder Games?

We have been contacted by many firms in the past to discuss licensing. We will be reaching out to those firms by language in an order of our choosing to discuss licensing of both Vast and Root.

Translation Surveys

Surveys for how to proceed with pledges in French, German or Spanish have just gone out! Please respond to them as soon as possible so for those who would prefer to switch entirely into English, can be part of our first wave of fulfillment this month!

Shipping Update and Translations Update

Hey guys!

This update will be pertaining to the ENGLISH editions of Vast, Fearsome Foes, The Miniatures, Bonus Cards and Upgrade Packs. Please see below for NON-ENGLISH editions of the game and its expansions.

Shipping Update 

We’ll start off by thanking everyone for their patience since we missed our original target to finish fulfilling in August 2017. Delivering a high quality product is important to us so thanks again for bearing with us while we had to take some extra time to ensure our high level of quality standards! We’re also extremely happy to say we’re really close to getting the add-ons into your hands!

Our current estimated date of the boat arrivals to the ports are as follows from the factory:

• AUS Arrival date - 12/3rd 
• US Arrival date - 12/3rd 
• UK Arrival date - 12/15th

Please note that these dates are only for the boat arrival, NOT for shipment start dates. Customs time, transit to fulfillment centres, processing times etc may potentially push the expected shipment start date a week or two after the expected arrival dates. We’re estimating all shipment to begin roughly mid-december, however.

This shipment consists of the following 

• Miniatures 
• Fearsome Foes (the three new add-on characters: Ghost, Ghoul, Nightmare Unicorn)
• Bonus Cards 
• Upgrade Packs

For the list of companies fulfilling for us, please refer to the below. The next few weeks will be busy for everyone, especially it being the holidays, so if you have any questions regarding your tracking or status of your shipment, please be patient.

Backerkit Closure 

Now that we’re in the final stretch, we will be closing all backerkit surveys and collecting any outstanding charges on December 1st. During the time between Dec 1st - 15th, addresses cannot be changed. Most surveys should be unlocked for you to manually change your addresses, but if not, please email us ASAP at [email protected] and Caryl will attend to your address change as soon as she can.

Translations 

We’re happy to say that we have a deal worked out for French and Spanish editions of the base games! The German edition is well on its way, but is unconfirmed at the moment, unfortunately. We’ll update to its status as soon as we know. The brazilian/portuguese edition is being handled by a third party and their translation is going forward as before.

Thanks to everyone who pledged for foreign editions of the game for being incredibly patient as we worked out the best possible solutions to move forward.

The only downside to all of this is that we were only able to confirm translations for the core game and not the add-ons. We’ll be emailing all of those who pledged for foreign editions with a survey from Backerkit asking how you’ll want to proceed out of the following options:

• Option 1: Full refund 
• Option 2: Change your language choice fully into English 
• Option 3: Get the core set in your chosen language and The Fearsome Foes in English 
• Option 4: Refund down to just the chosen language core game

Purchasing the miniatures in English will not affect gameplay translation, other than the box being in English, since the miniatures expansion will only contain the miniatures and no instructions or cards.

Please do not email us regarding how you want to proceed since we’ll be reaching out contact first.

In short, the following will unfortunately NOT be translated:

• Miniatures (French/Spanish/German), however its use is completely language independent
• Fearsome Foes (French/Spanish/German)
• Bonus Cards (French/Spanish/German)

The proofs for Vast: The Fearsome Foes and the Miniatures (as well as the Upgrades and the Bonus cards) arrived a week or two ago. The factory is putting everything on the ships next week. Our depot is hoping to receive the games in December. I will keep you posted as soon as we have arrival dates and we can work with the depots to plan a timeline for fulfillment.

 This is for the English versions. I have been discussing by email with buyers in Europe trying to generate enough orders to cover the cost of the print run. I am getting close to a solution which I need to settle on soon, the factory needs time to work.
